Download  and print a bird.
You'll need a plastic drinking straw
a new  unsharpened pencil
some play dough
a small piece of wool and a scissors.

A bird will fill a standard 8.5 x 11 inch page which is a good place to start but you can make it any size.
The proportions and angles  matter.
Print on heavy paper.
Cut the bird out and fold it in half down the long center line, stopping just behind the wings leaving the tail unfolded..
Fold each wing at the body parallel to the center line
.
Fold the beak under.
Use the pencil to give the tail and wings a bit of flip, the way you would curl a ribbon.
Put the pencil in the play dough, eraser end down, so that the pencil stands up straight. This is your bird's display stand.
Balance your bird. Adjust the beak, wings and tail until you like the angle.
Charge the straw by rubbing it with the wool.
Now....play with your bird....move it without touching it.
